We understand the aesthetic as the beauty (Immanuel Kant, Jacques Rancière) or as the sublime (Jean-François Lyotard). In any case, the aesthetic is relevant and central in our lives, as Moritz Baßler and Heinz Drügh discuss in their book Gegenwartsästhetik (2021).

They present aesthetics in our culture as the best model for thinking in and of forms. Aesthetics means an intellectual processing of the sensually given with the inclusion of feeling. This feeling could be translated as freedom and fulfillment.
