Hamid Tafazoli
Hamid Tafazoli studied German Philology, Linguistics and Indo-European Languages at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (www.uni-muenster.de), taught and received his doctorate in philosophy there. Tafazoli was at the University of Washington in Seattle www.uw.edu (WA, USA) and at the University of Luxembourg www.uni.lu until he went to the University of Bielefeld www.uni-bielefeld.de and received his Habilitation there. In addition, Tafazoli had several research stays, including at the University College Cork www.ucc.ie and at the University of Strasbourg www.unistra.fr.
Tafazoli's academic interest in modern German literature is focused on the German-language literature between the early modern and modern times. Literature is seen as an aesthetic form of cultural expression.
Tafazoli discovers another form in Tango Argentino.
For Tafazoli, Argentine Tango is not only about communication, but also about aesthetics. In his research, Tafazoli deals with the Tango Argentino, on the one hand inspired by the philosophical approaches of the French philosopher Michel Foucault (1926-1984) in connection with heterotopia and on the other hand with forms of meaning of Tango Argentino in social communication, as Tafazoli describes in his article entitled Transformation this.
