Language

In an age when our thoughts and actions have to meet national and global requirements, Cultural Studies emphasizes the relevance of language as an integral part of intercultural competence. In the university sector, the fields of German as a Foreign Language and German as a Second Language respond to such requirements. The former refers to the acquisition of German abroad, the latter to learning German in Germany. Both fields aim to develop methodological and didactic concepts that promote intercultural competence

Our work in the medium of language is divided into the following areas:

1. Education and training programs for teachers of German as a Foreign and Second Language

Profesolutions develops its concepts for use in the training and continuing education of teachers. Our concepts are used in training and professional development programs and show how German can be taught and learned. We work with the methodological and didactic guidelines of the ‘Deutsch Lehren Lernen’ program of the Goethe Institute.

2. Teaching programs in German as a Foreign and Second Language

Profesolutions also offers courses and private tuition in compliance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in German as a foreign and second language, in face-to-face and distance learning. Our target group are:

Advanced or less advanced students who are preparing for the entrance, assessment or DSH exam.

Researchers who are planning a short- or long-term research stay in Germany as part of a university exchange program,

and pupils who need extra tuition.

3. Teaching programs in French

Profesolutions connected you with Entre Nous, an online French program designed for people who already have a foundation in French but have lost confidence because they have not practiced for a while. You will have the opportunity to reconnect with the language, regain confidence in speaking, join an inclusive and non-judgmental community, and simply have fun while practicing French again. The program is casual and light-hearted, yet structured and rich in learning. Topics range from everyday activities to travel, art, politics, and, of course, French culture and literature. Each session is kept small so that participants can practice as much as possible. All age groups and levels are welcome. 4. Promotion of scientific exchange

Thanks to its excellent knowledge of universities in the United States and Germany, as well as of funding institutions, Profesolutions can present suitable programs and advise you during your research stay.

5. Editing and reviewing book manuscripts

Profesolutions works with publishers and accompanies authors on the way to publishing their German-language texts. Profesolutions edits and appraises manuscripts and advises authors on their choice of publisher.
